MEET ANNABEL BOWER

Food stylist, recipe writer, and lover of all things food!

Annabel Bower is a food stylist, and creative force known for making food taste as extraordinary as it looks. With a career spanning fine dining, aristocratic estates, and the coordination of high-end event catering, Annabel has mastered the art of food that captivates both the palate and the eye.

Her culinary journey began at the world-renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland, where she immersed herself in classic French techniques, international cuisines, bread making, butchery, and farm-to-table principles.

From there, she landed in the Gloucestershire countryside, cooking for aristocrats on the Badminton Estate—home of the Duke of Beaufort and the inspiration for Rupert Campbell-Black of Jilly Cooper fame. There, she worked as a Nanny but loved jumping into the kitchen  cooking for lords, ladies, and the occasional celebrity or royal guest, from simple lunches to exquisite dinner parties.

Returning to Australia, Annabel launched her own catering company, quickly making

a name for herself with her generous, soul-satisfying dishes and jaw-dropping food installations. Whether it was a lavish wedding or an intimate soirée, her creations and menus set the scene for unforgettable gatherings.

Now, as the founder of Food by Annabel, she is one of the most sought-after names in food styling, recipe development, and creative direction. Her work behind the scenes elevates some of Australia’s most celebrated food and lifestyle brands, and she is the best-kept secret behind culinary icons like Maggie Beer, and brands like San Remo.

At home, Annabel’s four children keep her on her toes, inspiring her to create meals that balance practicality with indulgence—proving that great food doesn’t need to be complicated to be memorable. With a warm, can-do attitude and an innate understanding of how to nourish both people and moments, Annabel believes food should be shared, celebrated, and enjoyed.
